What is Go Within Collective?

Go Within Collective is a wellness collective of licensed facilitator and psychedelic-informed practitioners dedicated to offering safe, secure, and guided access to integrative wellness solutions, including psychedelic therapies. Our team includes Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitators, healthcare professionals, mental health professionals, and wellness professionals who are passionate about creating supportive and transformational healing experiences.

What is psilocybin, and how does it work?

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring compound found in certain mushrooms, often referred to as “magic mushrooms.” When ingested, psilocybin is converted to psilocin, which interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain. This leads to altered perceptions, deep insights, and potential therapeutic benefits.

Who can benefit from psilocybin therapy?

Research has shown promising results for individuals with PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and eating disorders. It’s also beneficial for those seeking personal growth, creative breakthroughs, enhancing emotional resilience, and a deeper connection to self and others. Our services are tailored to clients ready to explore these benefits in a structured, supportive setting.

How should I prepare for a psilocybin mushroom journey?

Preparation includes physical, mental, and emotional readiness. We recommend limiting alcohol and other substances, eating clean, staying hydrated, and taking time to journal about your intentions. Practices such as breathwork, mindfulness, and body scans can help prepare the mind and body for the experience ahead. Go Within Collective provides structured support in the weeks leading up to the session, including personalized guidance on self-care practices that enhance your experience. Your licensed facilitator will also share some things that could be experienced during your journey, helping you feel more grounded as you walk into the unknown.

You will also receive a Welcome Packet that includes helpful tips and information about your journey ahead.

What is intention-setting, and why is it important?

Intention-setting is the process of clarifying your goals and motivations before your psilocybin therapy session. This might include reflecting on what you wish to explore or release, journaling your thoughts, and addressing underlying issues before embarking on your journey. Setting a clear intention can serve as a guiding anchor during the session, helping you to navigate challenges and maximize the benefits of the experience.

What is integration coaching, and why do I need it?

Integration coaching involves working with your Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator after your journey to process the experience and incorporate insights into your daily life. The 24-72 hours after a psilocybin journey are very important. During this time, your brain is highly neuroplastic, meaning it is able to re-organize thoughts and patterns more easily. It is crucial to work with your facilitator during this window to increase the likelihood that the journey’s benefits positively impact your relationships, personal growth, and well-being through lasting, positive changes.

What should I expect during a psilocybin mushroom journey?

A psilocybin journey typically last 4-6 hours, though they can go longer and may involve a wide range of experiences. These can including emotional release, introspection, visual effects, and profound insights. Your facilitator will review many of the possible experiences during your Preparation Sessions. They will be fully present during your journey to offer support, ensuring you feel safe and grounded throughout the process. Each journey is unique, and experiences can range from deeply introspective to transformative.

Plan for 6-8 hours at our healing center for the day of your journey. This allows time to settle in before and land safely afterward.

Are psilocybin mushrooms safe?

Psilocybin has a favorable safety profile when used in a controlled, supportive setting with Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitators. It would take approximately 4 pounds of dried psilocybin mushrooms to reach dangerous levels, which is much higher than the 3-5 grams administered during a psilocybin therapy session. At Go Within Collective, we adhere to strict protocols and legal regulations to ensure the highest level of care, including careful screening and preparation. Our psilocybin mushrooms are grown by Licensed Natural Medicine Cultivators and tested for potency and impurities by a Licensed Natural Medicine Lab. However, like all therapies, there are potential medical and psychiatric risks for certain individuals, and we review these with each client individually.

How is the psilocybin ingested?

At Go Within Collective, psilocybin can be ingested in various safe and palatable forms. We offer mushrooms prepared dried and raw, often served with cacao and honey, for a naturally sweetened experience. Another option is consumption in capsule form, where psilocybin mushrooms are powdered and placed into capsules similar to a multi-vitamin. They can also be powdered and steeped into a warm tea for a gentler experience for those with GI issues. One common experience is nausea due to an insoluble fiber (chitin) present in psilocybin mushrooms. This can be addressed by using the tea method and paired with ginger. Dried banana chips are also available as they aid in the breakdown of the insoluble fiber.

What research exists on psilocybin for mental health?

Current research highlights psilocybin’s potential to treat PTSD, depression, and anxiety, as well as its benefits for personal growth and overall well-being. Studies from institutions like Johns Hopkins and NYU show that psilocybin can lead to lasting positive changes in mood, behavior, and mental health.
